Today’s Famous Wisconsinite and Milwaukee resident is Riverwest Activist Ruth Weill.

She was born at Mount Sinai Hospital in Milwaukee, went to Nicolet High School and then UWM for college. Ruth has lived in the Riverwest Neighborhood of Milwaukee for 25 years, raising her 13 year old son Brad and dog Fluffy there.

Ruth is the Community Engagement Coordinator at Riverworks. She is a woman that gets $h!t done!

Ruth established the Riverwest Business Association. Ruth coordinated Nine 4th of July events at Gordon Park. She took over The Riverwest Gardeners Market in 2019 and is working on her 13th(!!!) Center Street Daze Festival. Aside from those amazing feats, Ruth does neighborhood clean ups and connects residents and businesses to resources.

I’m proud to know Ruth and to have worked with her through the Riverwest Neighborhood Association in 2013 when I lived in Riverwest.
