️Today’s famous Wisconsinite is actor Harrison Ford. He was born in Chicago. His mother Dorothy was a Russian Jew and former Radio Actress. His father Christopher was a German and Irish Catholic ad executive. "As a man I've always felt Irish, as an actor I've always felt Jewish."
Ford attended Ripon College in Ripon, WI as a Philosophy major. He married his first wife in Mequon, WI.
He went on to pursue an acting career with Columbia and Universal Studios. Ford played many small roles in movies like American Graffiti before eventually landing the role of Han Solo in Star Wars in 1977. He went on to star in the Indiana Jones franchise and in movies such as Working Girl, Blade Runner, Patriot Games and The Fugitive. He’s a licensed pilot and has assisted in rescues near his home in Wyoming. Ford is active in nature conservation, supporting Archaeologists and environmental issues. He is the vice-chairman of the non-profit Conservation International.
